Gibson Place Utility Water Treatment Plant #2

The Gibson Place Utility Company WTP No. 2 was constructed to supply potable water to The Villages’ expanding service area, particularly south of County Road 470 in Sumter County, to accommodate the region’s growing demand. The water treatment plant treats groundwater sourced from the Lower Floridan Aquifer, which contains elevated sulfide levels that require specialized treatment.

This facility is a newly developed 5.0 mgd maximum daily demand (MDD) water treatment plant.

Halff services performed on this proejct included water plant design, permittin, construction administration services, water treatment system design, regulatory permitting, geotechnical support, preparation of plans and design of system components.
